Multi-tiered System of Supports for Students (MTSS)
Welcome to the Stephens County School System Multi-tiered System of Supports for Students (MTSS) webpage!
Stephens County School System emphasizes continuous improvement of our instructional system in order to help all students experience success. Each student participates in various district-wide assessments and screenings in order to gather data that drives instructional planning. If students are experiencing difficulty with a various topic or standard, then the teacher may implement a research-based intervention (instructional strategy) to help the students. For example, the strategy may include re-teaching a certain math skill to a small group of students for several weeks and monitoring the improvement of the group on that specific skill. This system of supports may be applied to all subjects and teaching appropriate student behavior.
Each school has time included in the school schedule for teachers and paraprofessionals to work with students on specific interventions that they might need over the course of the school year. Our goal is for all students to succeed!
