Pre-K Registration

Three ways to register for the SCSS Georgia Pre-K Bright from the Start Lottery: 

1. If you have students currently in SCSS you can log into your parent portal account (Select More and then Online Registration to register additional students). If you do not have a parent portal account please go to the Central Enrollment page for this information.
2. If you have an e-mail address you can register using the secure Infinite Campus Online Registration. After completing the registration online you must come by Central Enrollment to complete the process.
3. No e-mail or internet access -- No problem....you may come by Central Enrollment to register your student using our kiosk.

Required Documents:

Enrollment may be delayed if all required documentation is not available.

• Certified copy of Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Immunization on Georgia Form 3231
• Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutrition Screening (Form 3300) - available at child's 4 year check-up (not required at registration if child is not 4 - turn in as soon as child turns 4)
• 2 Proofs of Residency (must have parent/guardians name on all proofs of residency)
  • Government Issued Picture Identification with residential address (example: Driver's License, Passport, Military ID)
  • Current Utility bill with residential service address (example: City of Toccoa, Hart EMC, Georgia Power)
  • Current Home Purchase Agreement, Lease or Rental Agreement with residential address
  • Current Home Owner's or Renter's Insurance Policy with residential address
  • Current Pay Stub with residential address
  • Current Income Tax Return with residential address
  • Current Residential Property Tax Statement with residential address
  • Current Medicaid Card with residential address
  • Current Warranty or Quick Claim Deed with residential address
• Driver's License or State Issued ID of enrolling parent/guardian

Lottery Process:

Seats are filled through a random selection lottery process.

Pre-K Lottery Priority Acceptance List: 

Priority 1: Stephens County School System Employees  - Employees of the Stephens County School System—including both directly employed and contracted staff—must enroll their students in the school attendance zone where they reside, unless the employee works at the designated elementary school.

Employees who live in the State of Georgia but outside Stephens County may apply to the school of choice.

Employees who live within Stephens County and wish for their student to attend a school outside their attendance zone may submit an out-of-district request. After all in-zone applicants have been placed on a school’s roster, employee requests will receive priority for any remaining available seats.

Addresses will be verified. Transportation (shuttle bus service) will not be provided.

Priority 2: Students residing with school attendance zones - Students living in the school attendance zone. Addresses will be verified.

Priority 3: Stephens County residents outside school attendance zones - Students who reside in Stephens County but outside the designated school attendance zone may submit an out-of-district request. After all in-zone applicants have been placed on a school’s roster and all waitlists have been exhausted, out-of-district applicants will be contacted to fill any remaining vacancies.

Addresses will be verified. Transportation will not be provided.

Priority 4: Georgia residents living outside of Stephens County -Students who reside outside of Stephens County but within the State of Georgia may submit an out-of-county request. After all Stephens County applicants have been placed on a school’s roster and all waitlists have been exhausted, out-of-county applicants will be contacted to fill any remaining vacancies.

Addresses will be verified. Transportation will not be provided.

Waitlist Students: If a student is on the waitlist for their attendance zone school and there are available seats at a school outside their attendance zone, the student may be offered enrollment at the out-of-zone school. Transportation will not be provided.
