    Good Morning Everyone,

After meeting with both district and school administration the decision has been made to reopen schools for in class learning as of Monday January 11th. After monitoring the situation over the past week, we have determined that the schools can operate safely. As we have seen throughout this whole situation, in class learning is still the best option for our community. As part of our reopening plan, I strongly encourage both students and staff to wear masks while on campus. Throughout the school year we have learned that our protocols of wearing masks and social distancing have kept the spread of COVID-19 in school to a minimum.

I want to thank everyone for their efforts this year and specifically over the past few days in preparing for multiple outcomes. That being said the school district is prepared to switch to virtual learning if the need arises. In the coming week we will post our virtual learning contingency plan for each school on our school websites so the community is prepared if the district has to move to virtual learning.

These are trying times and these decisions are extremely difficult, however the resilient spirit of the Stephens County School System and the Stephens County community should be commended. We will get through this together!
