                <title>Stephens County Tops Georgia Averages in the First CCRPI Release</title>
                <description><![CDATA[The Georgia Department of Education has released the first College and Career Ready PerformanceIndex (CCRPI) that measures schools and school district. The CCRPI is the new accountability system thatreplaces the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) measurement in Georgia. Overall CCRPI Score Achievement Score Progress Points Achievement Gap Points ED/EL/SWD Performance Points Exceeding the Bar Points GA ElementaryOverall 83.4 SCSS Elementary Overall 87.9 59.7 9.1 12.8 6.3 0 GA Middle Overall 81.4 SC Middle 95.6 63.7 10.8 15 5.6 0.5 GA High Overall 72.6 SC High 79.8 56 8.1 11.3 3.9 .5 All six schools and the school system performed above state averages. On the CCRPI, the schoolreceives a score out of 100 points. The overall score is made up from three areas: Achievement 70%,Progress 15%, and Achievement Gap 15%. In addition to the three major areas, schools could alsoreceive &amp;ldquo;Challenge Points&amp;rdquo; to add to their score (up to 10 points). They receive these points if they havea significant number of Economically Disadvantaged students, English Learner students and Studentswith Disabilities meeting expectations. They also receive points for going beyond the targets of theCCRPI by challenging students to exceed expectations and participate in college and career readinessprograms. Earlier in the school year, all six schools were named Reward Schools by the Georgia Department ofEducation for High Performance and/or High Progress. ]]></description>
